Training: Path to Power

The AFL-CIO has a program called PATH TO POWER which helps local activists build power to influence positively their communities. One particular way is to run for a local office.

The first training is now scheduled for Saturday, January 24th 8:00am – 5:00pm and Sunday, January 25th 9:00am – 5:00pm. The training will be held at the MN AFL-CIO headquarters at 175 Aurora Ave, Saint Paul, MN and is free of cost. Bill Emory, the Path to Power Coordinator at AFL-CIO makes a special point emphasizing that the training free of charge.

The training is geared to persons interested to learn about how to run for office, how to run a campaign, or how to support a campaign in their community.

The training will also cover fundraising, crafting an effective message, creating a campaign plan, building a campaign team, effective targeting, how to talk to voters. This training is primarily designed for people who might consider running for office someday, but will also be very valuable to anyone who will support a candidate for office as well.

The staff delivering the training inclides an elite AFL-CIO team from the national partners, as well as local leaders.
